ABSTRACT:

A discontinuous Galerkin volume integral equation (DGVIE) method is proposed for scattering from inhomogeneous objects. It is shown that this DGVIE has several blessings over different volume integral ways. Initial, the DGVIE will be used for nonconformal meshes; second, the order of the singularity in DGVIE has been reduced from $1/R^text3$ to $1/R$, and also the implementation of DGVIE becomes easy; third, the proposed DGVIE converges faster than the ancient VIE methods particularly for objects with high permittivity. Numerical results validate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed DGVIE.
