A Wideband Electrically Small Transient-State Antenna


A brand new concept related to feeding an electrically tiny antenna is introduced to beat the elemental limits of antennas. This new understanding of input impedance permits transmission of an arbitrary waveform using a prime quality issue (high-Q) resonant antenna that has been previously not possible. A sample style is introduced and simulated using a full-wave electromagnetic simulator in association with a circuit transient simulator. The basic antenna is able to radiate a double-sideband amplitude-modulated signal. A combination of two orthogonal antennas is employed to transmit a circularly polarized quadrature section shift keying (QPSK)-modulated signal. The simulation and measured results ensure the effectiveness of the new concept.
