Combined Vector and Direct Thrust Control of Linear Induction Motors With End Effect Compensation

PROJECT TITLE:

Combined Vector and Direct Thrust Control of Linear Induction Motors With End Effect Compensation

ABSTRACT:

Linear induction machines dynamics might not be as fast as that of their rotary counterparts thanks to a bigger air gap, a larger leakage flux, and end impact. Direct thrust control can speed up their dynamics substantially with rather high pulsations, while vector control facilitates a smoother performance but slower dynamics. During this paper, an analogy between the two management ways, when they are applied to the linear machines, is proved initial. The analogy is then used to justify combining the chosen parts of the 2 management strategies to come up with a management technique that provides faster dynamics than vector control and smother performance than direct thrust control. The proposed management technique is realized by obtaining rid of demanding elements of the two standard management strategies. End result is additionally considered in the modeling and management system style. Intensive simulation results confirmed by experimental results prove improved motor performances below the proposed control methodology. The proposed management is significantly appropriate for linear applications that require quick dynamics and swish operation.
