Electronic Structure of La–Co Substituted Strontium Hexaferrite (Sr1 – xLaxFe12 – xCoxO19) Permanent Magnet

ABSTRACT:

We tend to report electronic structures of M-type SrFe12O19 and La3+ – Co2+ combine substituted Sr1-xLaxFe1-xCoxO19 ferrites (x = 0.one – zero.five). First-principles calculations were performed on the ferrites to calculate electronic structures. The substitution of La3+ – Co2+ within the second and 2a sites decreased the lattice constants and total magnetic moment per unit cell. The moments at 2b, 12k, 4 f1, and 4 f2 sites aren’t littered with the substitution. Nonsubstituted SrFe12O19 could be a semiconductor, but becomes [*fr1]-metallic when La3+ and Co2+ are substituted within the second and 2a sites, respectively.
